Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the show. I have been traveling quite a bit recently, which has been so much fun. I absolutely love to travel and my most recent trip was to Puerto Vallarta and I went with my sister and my niece and we had the most amazing time. You know how I talk about getting out of your comfort zone. I do that all the time and I did that quite a bit on our trip. One of the things that we did we stayed at a beautiful, beautiful resort and they have activities going on all the time and then each night they do something in the theater, a show or whatever. So I wanted to share a couple of things that we did during the trip, because I again love to make.

Speaker 1:

I have fallen in love with making myself uncomfortable. If you haven't done that, I highly recommend it, because you grow and expand and then you're so freaking proud of yourself when you do these things. So the first thing well, there's several things that I did. One of the things that I did they had a silent disco one night. It was so much fun. I had never even heard of a silent disco, let alone attended one. So if you don't know what a silent disco is, let me tell you. So they had it in the theater and there were three DJs up on the stage. One had red, they all had colors associated with them. So one was red, one was green and one was blue, and then they would each play songs and bounce off of each other. So we were all given a set of headphones and we had started in the back of the theater in this really cushy, cozy seating area, and we were hanging out back there when it started, and then there was the stage up front and then there were seats all around, and so several people were just sitting in the seats with headphones on, but they didn't get up and dance. Well, we all know that I love to shake my ass every single day, right, but I always do that at home, I don't do it in public. So we started in the back. We're kind of dancing around and it was fun. And then I looked at my sister and my niece and I was like we should go up there and I pointed up to the stage and so we went up and it was like in front of the stage people were dancing, and so we went up there and we were dancing.

Speaker 1:

So the DJs would kind of compete with each other, and so one would play. You know they would each be playing different songs. So you'd look around and some people have red headphones on and some people would have blue, some would have green, and then you would change the station if you wanted to check out and listen to what the other DJ was playing. And of course, the DJs were trying to get everybody to listen to their tunes. So, anyway, we shook our asses for two hours straight.

Speaker 1:

I danced my ass off, and there's a couple of really cool things about this whole experience. The first one is that I was the one that initiated us going up to the front. Anybody that has known me for a prolonged amount of time knows that the former me would never have done that, not to mention I wouldn't have been dancing anyway. But the second thing that I did was I danced and I didn't give a shit about what anybody thought about what I was doing and how I was moving my body. I just was completely and totally present in the moment and just danced. I just danced and I was dripping with sweat, my hair was soaking wet, like we just shook our asses for two hours and it was amazing, and afterwards I was reflecting on it and I was like I literally didn't care. I mean, there were people sitting around watching us because they weren't coming up and dancing, which is fine. Everybody doesn't feel comfortable to do that. Again, former me would not have felt comfortable doing that, but I did it and I was so proud of myself and it felt so freeing to be up there moving my body, dancing, feeling the music and not caring what anybody thought about how I danced. So if you ever have an opportunity to check out a silent disco, I highly recommend it because it is so much fun and afterwards you'll be really proud of yourself if you don't normally dance in front of people, because you know what. It was just a really fun experience and something I will remember for the rest of my life.

Speaker 1:

They had activities going on. I mean, we obviously had a lot of rest time. I can't ever get enough time in the pool or near the pool but there was one time where they were doing a contest and they were asking for volunteers and my niece volunteered and then I volunteered. I had no idea what I was volunteering for. Okay, again, former me would never have done that, not knowing what I was volunteering to do so I ended up having to blow up a balloon and knock cups off of a table. I didn't win, but again, really proud of myself for even doing it and even volunteering to begin with, because it's just something I didn't use to do and now it's fun.

Speaker 1:

It's fun to try new things and, you know, sometimes it feels a little bit uncomfortable but if you can just like hold it and feel yourself through that and move through the discomfort, it's kind of fun. And then they had a thing where you had to throw a football. One of the activities coordinators was like in the water and she was holding one of those pool noodles in a circle and you had to throw a football and try and get the football through the circle. I missed the first one but I got the second one. Unfortunately, again somebody else got it in like three times, but I almost made it to the championship and yeah, it was just a lot of fun. So you know, trying new things and making yourself uncomfortable, it's really, it's just fun and I can't say that enough.

Speaker 1:

You will always hear me encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and do things that make you uncomfortable because you know what you might realize that you're missing out on some really cool shit by staying in your comfort zone and do things that make you uncomfortable, because you know what? You might realize that you're missing out on some really cool shit by staying in your comfort zone. So just remember, if there's something that you've been wanting to try to do or something that, oh, you know what else I did? I rode a horse. I have always been curious about horseback riding and I've always been a little bit scared to do it. And I've had opportunities and I've always just said no, thank you.

Speaker 1:

Well, my niece had seen horses on the beach and she was like I want to ride a horse on the beach before we leave. And so it was our. It was our last full day and we went down and I was like, okay, well, I'm not going to let her she's 25, but like she's gorgeous and blonde and beautiful and I'm like I'm not going to let my 25 year old niece go down the beach with some strange person that she doesn't know by herself, I'm like, okay, shannon, you need to suck it up and get your ass on the horse. And so I did and it ended up being a lot of fun. It was a little bit scary and the horse was not cooperating with me at first, and so I had a little conversation with him. We ended up working through it and we had a good time and it was a lot of fun and I was again really proud of myself. So not only did I have an amazing vacation, I did all kinds of things that made me really proud of me, and I cannot express to you enough how important it is that your joy, your happiness, all of that it's all within you and you can create.

Speaker 1:

You can create your own happiness and it's all an inside job. It's all an inside job. We can't look outside of ourselves for our happiness. We have to create it within ourselves. Our head, our heart, all of it aligns and do the things that are like a hell. Yes to you. Unless you're wanting to make sure that your niece is safe, then you do it to help protect her. But it was something I had wanted to do and I just wasn't being brave enough. But you're brave, be brave and try new things and just have some fun. I think we're going to wrap up with that today and just keep this short and sweet, and I hope you have a beautiful, beautiful day. Much love.
