Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the Pure Possibilities podcast. This is a very special episode because it is airing on the one-year anniversary of the Pure Possibilities podcast I launched last year on December 31st 2023, and we've made it an entire year 62 episodes and we have been listened to in 30 countries and territories and over 2,300 listens to episodes, and I am so incredibly thankful for you. Thank you so much for supporting me on this exciting journey that I've been on, that we've been on together over this last year and when I had decided to launch a podcast, I had no idea I was scared to death, if you recall, if you go back and listen to one of the very first episodes I had recorded and I was scared and I was like, okay, 15 seconds of insane courage and let's do this. And I almost didn't post that episode and I decided to do it anyway, because that is exactly how we grow and when you can look back at things that you've done and see your growth and improvement, sometimes you just got to do it. You just got to do it and see what happens and I feel like it's been a really successful year and I'm so incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way.

Speaker 1:

There are several people who are in the pure possibilities private Facebook community and you are welcome to join. The link is in the show description and I go in there live every week and we have great conversations and wonderful questions that come up. And this has been so much fun and I have learned an incredible amount. I have moved myself out of my comfort zone more times than I can tell you. It has increased my confidence. I've learned so much tech. It is insane what I have fumbled my way through over the last year, and many people don't know this, but a lot of people do start podcasts and there's something that they call pod fade, where people will launch a podcast and they'll get about seven episodes in and they stop. I had told myself I was going to do at least 50 episodes. I was going to commit to that and I made that decision and now here we are, 62 episodes in and I'm having the best time ever. The podcast is going to evolve as I continue to evolve and grow and I really want to tailor this for you. I share a lot of my own personal stories and I do hope that they're helpful for you, but if there are any topics or if there's anything specific that you would like me to discuss on the show, please feel free to reach out. You can send me a message on Instagram or Facebook or you can text me in the show description, and I'm not able to respond to you on the site, but I can answer any questions that you have on an episode. So I just wanted to thank you all so much for supporting me and please continue to share the podcast with your family and friends. I know that my soul's purpose is to make an impact and that's what I believe that I'm doing with the feedback that I've received from people. So thank you, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1:

So we are wrapping up 2024 and it has been quite a year and, if you recall, if you've been with me since the beginning, when the year started, I did an episode about how do you want to feel this year, because I no longer believe in new year's resolutions, and I'm going to link that episode. And then I did one a couple of weeks after that, and then I did like a mid-year check-in in June. So I'm going to put all of those in the show description if you want to go back and listen to them. But how did you do this year?

Speaker 1:

How did you spend a majority of your days feeling? Because that day's feeling because that is truly what is in your power and in your control is choosing how you want to feel each day. And sometimes we wake up and we decide that we're going to have the most amazing day ever and then shit goes sideways. But the key is your awareness of how you're feeling, and not only the awareness of how you're feeling, but caring about how you feel and then doing something about it. So allowing yourself to feel whatever you're feeling and move through those emotions. Whatever you need to do, yell, scream, cry move through those feelings and choose. You get to choose and sometimes for me, shaking my ass and dancing and listening to music, because music always pulls me back and centers me and grounds me. Sometimes it's going for a walk, sometimes it's doing yoga, maybe connecting with a friend, whatever it is, whatever that is for you that can recenter you and get you back on track with your day. Do those things. That is all within your power, because all the things that are going on around us, we don't have control over that. We don't have control over how people treat us. We don't have control over what's going on around us. We don't have control over that. We don't have control over how people treat us. We don't have control over what's going on around us. None of that, none of that is in our control. But we can control how we respond, how we react and how we feel. We get to choose that every single day. So I'm going to put those in here, and we're heading into 2025 and the same thing goes how do you spend a majority of your day feeling? Ask yourself that how do I feel in this moment? What do I need in this moment?

Speaker 1:

I was talking with a friend yesterday and they said how do you know how your year was? How do you know how you spent most of your time feeling? How do you know how your year was? How do you know how you spent most of your time feeling? You could journal every day and then you could go back and look. I know for me the fact that I can remember more of the magical moments, the traveling, the fun I had, all the things that I did to like reconnect with myself and that childlike wonder and the play and all of those things. I remember more of that than the really shitty things that happened. However, I do remember some of those things and the lessons that I learned and the ways that they helped me to grow and move forward. So I don't know how you take a look at your previous year, but one of the reasons why I don't believe in resolutions is because life happens and things go sideways, and you just don't deserve to kick yourself in the ass all the time about something that you might not have gotten done.

Speaker 1:

Last week, I didn't air an episode. I had gotten sick and was dealing with some unexpected medical issues. I could have beat myself up about it and said all of these horrible things to myself about it, but I didn't, because I needed to allow myself to rest, and so I listened to my body myself to rest, and so I listened to my body when it's talking to me and honor how I'm feeling, and I needed rest because I wasn't well. The other thing I wanted to say about that is you know, talk about feeling good and spending majority of your time feeling good, or at least being aware of how you're feeling. It's really, really important.

Speaker 1:

But one thing that people will often get kind of stuck on is that conditional happiness. Let me know if any of these sound familiar to you. I'll be happy when I'm finally in that relationship that I've been desiring. I'll finally be happy when I'm out of this horrible relationship that I'm in. I'll finally be happy when I win the lottery. I'll finally be happy when I lose 20 pounds. I'll finally be happy when I move away from this horrible place that I'm living. I'll finally be happy when I move away from this horrible place that I'm living. I'll finally be happy when people start being nicer to me. I'll finally be happy when I make more money. I'll finally be happy when my kids are grown up and out of the house.

Speaker 1:

The list could go on and on. However, what we're often looking for when we say those things or feel those things, it's the feeling. It's the feeling that we're reaching for. So what are things that you can do for yourself to create that feeling that you're trying to achieve by those conditions that you're putting out there? We're talking about your energy, and are you spending most of your time feeling depressed, hopeless, sad, abandoned, ashamed, unloved, irritated, angry, pessimistic, frustrated and impatient? Or are you spending most of your time feeling inspired and confident, open-hearted, trusting, optimistic, relaxed, accepting, encouraging, passionate, happy, full of gratitude, full of love and joy. Where are you on that scale, full of love and joy? Where are you on that scale? You get to decide every single day. So please be kind to yourself, be loving to yourself, find the things that are fun for you and things that make you feel good. Maybe it's just curling up and reading a book, who knows? Whatever that is for you, I hope you choose to do that. Okay, here we go. I'm going to pull a card from the Magic of what If? Card deck, volume two. They are available on my website, purepossibilitiespodcastcom or purepossibilitiesnet. This is exciting, okay, this is exciting. Okay, ready to pull a card, today's card for the final card of 2024.

Speaker 1:

What if I consistently choose love over fear? What if I consistently choose love over fear? Love is pretty powerful and when you follow your heart and what feels good to you in your body and don't allow fear to stop you from pursuing the things that you want in your life. I often talk about how fear is an illusion, because there's a difference between fear and danger. Right, we've talked about that too.

Speaker 1:

Fear is usually us stepping out of our comfort zone and getting a little bit uncomfortable and doing the things that we believe or we perceive that we aren't able to do when you're actually in danger, that's very, very different. But when you have fear, when you choose to regulate your nervous system breathing whatever it is you need to do to regulate yourself and move through that it usually ends up not being nearly as scary as you thought it would be when you started. I know that when I move through my fear and I do the things that I'm afraid to do, I'm always really proud of myself for the fact that I did it, whether it's trying something new, or usually it's trying something new. That's like been my thing for the last several years. And then you know I have more information. Like I know I either love that or I don't, or maybe I don't want to do that again, but I did it one time and so I'm really proud of myself for doing that.

Speaker 1:

So choose love over fear. Always follow your heart and what feels good. Thank you so much for listening and supporting me on the Pure Possibilities podcast, and I'm so excited to go into 2025 and see what happens, what if I allow the universe to surprise and delight me. I hope you have a beautiful, beautiful day and a safe new year. Much love.
