Pure Possibilities - Align Your Heart, Mind, Energy & Soul
Embracing the Wisdom of Rest
In a world that often glorifies busyness, the latest episode of our podcast takes a bold stance: rest is not only essential, it’s transformational. We dive into the profound wisdom that comes from allowing ourselves to slow down and listen to our bodies. By exploring the delicate balance between striving for control and embracing the power of pause, we uncover how easily we ignore the signals our bodies send us when they're in distress.
The conversations steer into the territory of intuition, shedding light on how our physical sensations—like a tight stomach or a heavy heart—can provide crucial guidance in decision-making. Throughout this engaging dialogue, we challenge the common notion that productivity and relentless action are the ultimate markers of success. Instead, we illustrate how embracing stillness opens doors to clarity, creativity, and deeper self-discovery.
Furthermore, we unpack the role of expectations in our lives. How often do we allow them to dictate our experiences and interactions, leading to disappointment? This episode encourages a refreshed perspective on love and acceptance, advocating for a journey free from the burdens of expectation.
With calls to reflect on self-care and intuitive health, our conversation in this episode equips you with insightful tools. If you're ready to transform your relationship with rest and self-awareness, join us as we navigate this enriching exploration together. Make sure to subscribe, share, and leave a review so we can continue this journey of discovery with you!

Welcome back to the Pure Possibilities podcast. I felt called to do a little add-on to last week's episode because, as I've been continuing to navigate through transitions in my own life, I've been noticing that what's feeling really important is the power of rest and ease. So often when we're navigating change like we talked about last week whether it's planned or unexpected, our instinct is generally to do more and push ourselves. We're trying to figure everything out, make all the right moves, stay in control. However, control is an illusion, as we've discussed before, but what if the most powerful thing for us to do is to actually pause? What if, instead of pushing, we allow ourselves to listen, to slow down, tune in and allow our bodies to guide us? That's what we're going to dive into today the wisdom of rest, the power of ease and how our intuition speaks through our bodies. When we're willing to listen, our bodies are always, always talking to us.
Speaker 1:Do you listen to your body talk? Maybe you've been feeling a little extra tired, but instead of resting, you just keep pushing yourself. Maybe you get like that tight feeling in your gut when you say yes to something that doesn't feel aligned or right for you. Maybe you're craving stillness, but your mind keeps telling you that you should be doing more and remember, we don't like to should on ourselves. So what if listening to your body talk? What if those sensations you're feeling aren't just some random thing that's happening? What if your body is actually trying to communicate with you and signal to you hey, it's time to slow down, there's something going on and maybe it would be a good idea to listen. So often we like push ourselves until we get sick and then we're completely exhausted and unable to function or whatever happens. These things happen when we don't listen to our body. When we ignore these messages, we disconnect from our own inner guidance. But when we learn to pause, to check in and trust what our bodies are telling us, we create space for more clarity, healing and alignment.
Speaker 1:One of the biggest lessons that I keep coming back to is rest. It's not weak, it's not lazy, it's needed. It's wisdom. There is so much wisdom in rest. When we allow ourselves to rest and to move with ease and trust that we don't have to force everything, we actually create more space for intuition to come through. When you are in stillness and rest, you can hear that guidance that is leading you to whatever is truly, truly best for you when you can kind of quiet the noise that's going on around you.
Speaker 1:Maybe you choose to just chill out and, I don't know, binge a show on Netflix. However, when I do that, I definitely ask myself a question non-judgmentally am I trying to avoid something or do I just need to rest? And sometimes I just need to rest. If I am perpetually doing it and nonstop, then I'm like, okay, you know I need to, I need to get curious about that. But sometimes we need a nap, sometimes we need to just chill out and rest, and when your body is signaling to you to do that, it's really important and we don't always have to do, do, do and keep forcing things and making things happen. Because also, when you rest or allow yourself time for play, the creativity really starts to flow. The creativity really starts to flow.
Speaker 1:So a question to reflect on where in your life are you resisting rest? How does your body communicate with you when something is or isn't aligned? What would it feel like to embrace more ease in your daily life? What would that look like for you? You know you can tap back into those core desired feelings and I bet they might clue you in. All right, you can tap back into those core desired feelings and I bet they might clue you in. All right, if it feels comfortable and safe for you to do so, I would like to invite you to breathe with me.
Speaker 1:So place your hand on your heart, take a deep breath in and, as you exhale, simply ask yourself what do I need most right now? No judgment, no overthinking. Just listen. Whatever answer comes up, trust it. Trust that you know what's best for you, not what other people think is best for you, but what you know to be true is best for you. Only you can answer that your body is wise. Your intuition is always, always speaking to you. Your body is always speaking to you and sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is be still enough to hear it. I hope you found that helpful. It's been quite an interesting week for me. It's been quite an interesting few weeks for me. Actually week for me. It's been quite an interesting few weeks for me. Actually. It's been really allowing me the opportunity to really connect and be in tune with myself.
Speaker 1:All right, I'm going to draw a card from the Magic of what If card deck volume two. They are available on my website, purepossibilitiespodcastcom, if you'd like to get a deck of your own. If you'd like to get a deck of your own. So what is today's message? All right, today, what if I allow myself to love others without expectation? What if I allow myself to love others without expectation? Add on to that, what if I allow myself to love myself without expectation? Ooh, you love yourself without expectation.
Speaker 1:Expectations breed disappointment, whether we're putting expectations on other people or expectations on ourself, especially when you put expectations on other people and like they have no idea. They have no idea that you've put this expectation on them. And then they do something and you are upset and angry and resentful and frustrated. And they don't even know, because they didn't even know that you were expecting whatever you were expecting, and then we put expectations on ourselves. I really feel like expectations in general can truly, truly lead to disappointment, can truly, truly lead to disappointment. What if I just allow myself to love myself and others without expectation? Thank you so much for listening. We're going to dive into a new mini series. I haven't decided which one it is yet, but you'll be surprised and delighted. I think I'll be surprised and delighted too, for whatever comes through, I hope you have a beautiful, beautiful day and an amazing week, much love.
