Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the Pure Possibilities podcast. Thank you so much for joining me today. I'm so happy that you're here. It's time we're finally starting a new mini series and I'm really excited about it because it is so close to my heart and the path that I've been on, and also I've had a lot of people bringing this up, whether it's clients or just friends and people in my world. So it's called Do you Even Know Yourself Anymore? And I want to say this right out of the gate, at the beginning If you have been feeling disconnected from yourself, if you have, like these moments where you're like wondering who am I now?

Speaker 1:

Who am I really? If you found yourself doing all the quote unquote right things and you still don't feel fulfilled, there is literally nothing wrong with you. You are not alone. This comes up for people all the time because life is constant change and we are continually growing and evolving and moving into different identities, our identity being how we perceive our world, the lens in which we see it, how we experience it, and I don't feel like we talk enough about what happens when you're moving into that new identity, that next level version of yourself. We talk a lot about reinventing yourself and growth and change. But we don't acknowledge how confusing and really disorienting it can feel when you look around your life and you're like I don't know who I am anymore, like who am I really? Who am I now?

Speaker 1:

It can be like those slow shifts, that that ache and that feeling that comes up inside of you Like what is this life that I've created? It can be a moment where you just realize that the person that you've become, the person that you're being, the life that you're living, it doesn't feel good, it doesn't feel like you and you don't know who you are anymore. Sometimes it comes as a clear ending, like you either intentionally choose to end a relationship or somebody else chooses to end it Again. We're talking either friendships or intimate relationships, a loss, a goodbye, a door closing that you didn't ask to be closed, and other times it's really just subtle, like a shift in a relationship, dynamic, a job that doesn't feel fulfilling anymore. But you've been doing it forever and all of a sudden you feel like it's sucking your soul. Just a way of living your life that you've outgrown, even if it's still what others expect of you. It doesn't feel good for you anymore and sometimes it's literally nothing ending at all.

Speaker 1:

You've been doing all of the things that you're supposed to do. You've been helpful to everyone. You're the super high achiever. You're steady. You're rock solid. You're the strong one. You're the super high achiever. You're steady, you're rock solid. You're the strong one. You're the one that always shows up. You keep yourself busy.

Speaker 1:

You said yes and then one day you're like I'm doing everything that I was supposed to do and I don't know who this person is anymore. I don't feel like myself. You're just literally going through the motions. Or you decide that this life that I've created, I actually don't like it, or I don't know how I got here.

Speaker 1:

And these are really difficult truths to like, sit with and acknowledge, because you don't know who you are anymore. You don't know who else to be, and it feels confusing and frustrating and a little bit scary. I had a moment where I realized that I was completely looking outside of myself for my happiness and I didn't know who I was, and so I have spent the last several years getting to know myself again, which is why this feels so personal, because I literally went over 40 years of my life doing the things that I thought I was supposed to be doing and also had no idea who I was, and so this is such a beautiful opportunity to acknowledge being in that space. It can feel really disorienting, really painful, and also, when you start to get honest with yourself about how you actually feel and where you are in your life, the habits, the patterns, all of the things that you've created, it opens up this pathway to creating the life that you actually want to be living.

Speaker 1:

So, if you're finding yourself in that space where you're wondering who you've become, where it feels like you've drifted so far away from that version of you that feels true to your soul, to the authenticity of who you are, you haven't failed, you aren't actually lost. It might feel like it, but you're not. You are waking up and that awareness it's not the problem, it's literally the beginning of everything changing, and I know that that can feel really scary. Believe me, I have been there. I'm literally continuing to move through that right now. I mean, I quit my job and my son moved and I'm like who am I when I'm not the general manager of a movie theater? Who am I now that I am not a mom without having my son living here and like it?

Speaker 1:

Things shift and change and it is constant and having the awareness of learning how to evolve when those changes happen, and reconnecting it's so much about like that connection to yourself, notice the places that don't feel good or don't feel safe for you, and being honest with yourself, even when you're not sure what comes next, just knowing because I say this all the time deep inside your soul, you know what resonates with you. You you know what feels good for you. You know, and acknowledging again this is to yourself, this is an acknowledgement to yourself. This is when I'm being honest with myself. Where am I feeling stuck? Where do I feel like I want something to be different? Because it literally all comes back to the relationship you have with yourself, and if you feel like you don't even know who you are, then we need to take steps to get to know this version of you.

Speaker 1:

An interesting thing happens when you start to listen to your body, talk to you and you have an awareness of your habits and your patterns and the things that you're doing. You know, sometimes we do feel lost, but when you have that awareness, you're like, okay, I'm going to check and what do I need? What do I need? So today we are not fixing anything. We aren't rushing to reinvent ourselves overnight. We're going to pause and be that version of you that's starting to realize that something has changed, something has shifted and Maybe, just maybe, you're allowed to want something more honest, more real and feels more like you. This is about your relationship with you, outside of all of the outside noise.

Speaker 1:

So I would like to offer you a couple of prompts to sit with this week. I would like to offer you a couple of prompts to sit with this week. What's changed in your life recently or over time that might have quietly changed something within you? What roles or expectations have shaped your identity without you really choosing them? When was the last time you felt fully, alive and fully? You Allow those answers to come up slowly and try to not overthink them with your logical mind. Just having the awareness is enough for today.

Speaker 1:

All right, we're going to go ahead and pull a card from the magic of what if card deck and see what message wants to come through for this conversation and the season of getting honest with ourselves. Okay, today's message is what if I'm capable of turning every challenge into a powerful lesson? Well, that definitely flows with today's conversation, because the changes that are happening can often feel like challenges, truly a gift to allow you to take ownership of your life and create the life that you actually want to be living. And we're not bypassing the feelings that come up and the emotions that come up from these things that happen in our life, which is why we regulate our nervous system and we stop and we breathe and allow ourselves to feel through whatever emotion we're feeling, to keep it from being trapped in our body. And this awareness of the challenges that we encounter to utilize them to grow and learn and move into the next level and version of ourselves. It's beautiful, it really is Okay.

Speaker 1:

So next week we're going to talk about the masks and the roles that we've learned to wear, the identities we step into to feel safe, loved or worthy, and how sometimes that keeps us from truly knowing ourselves, truly knowing ourselves. But for today, please know this If you are questioning who you are, if something feels off, if you've reached this point where you just don't know what's next or who you are, there's nothing wrong with you. It's an awareness and an opening to your own truth. It's an awareness and an opening to your own truth. And if you're feeling pulled to go deeper into this with me and to actually explore what it means to reconnect with who you are now.

Speaker 1:

I would love to invite you to the who Are you Now experience. It's a four-week journey to meet the version of you that's here right now, in this moment, beneath the noise, the rules, the old stories. It starts on July 30th and you can learn more at the link in the show description. Thank you so much for making the time for yourself and to be here, and I look forward to the unfolding of this mini series and helping you to get to know yourself, this version of you, right here, right now. Hope you have a beautiful, beautiful day and an amazing week, much love.
